Coursework focuses on career roles, interactions between various populations and the criminal justice system, and the social forces that contribute to order, conflict and positive social change. The curriculum provides a theoretical foundation of the discipline, combined with practical understanding of social science methodologies as they apply to criminal justice. Required courses include Police Work, Juvenile Justice, Race and Ethnic Relations, and Deviance and Social Control. A Sophomore Assessment Seminar provides the opportunity for students to reflect on their educational experience to date and focus on the courses and practical experience that will prepare them for their chosen career.
