Coursework focuses on psychology, child and adolescent development, personality theory, counseling techniques, community organization, and research methods. In addition to required courses that provide a foundational understanding of contemporary issues in social work and counseling, students have the flexibility to choose electives that allow them to specialize and pursue areas of interest. Elective address topics including creative arts therapy, adult development and aging, psychology and law, theories of domestic violence, abnormal psychology, race relations, U.S. social policy and more.
